I’m a recent graduate with a BA in Costume Design & Production from Seattle Pacific University. I have been sewing for nearly a decade but here is where I really dug into my craft. When it comes to costuming, I don’t think I’ll ever be done learning about it. I’m a lover of the absurdity—often I’m searching for new techniques and using a wide array of knowledge to tackle complex builds. Whenever possible I like to use recycled materials and create something from things others would disregard as trash, as this can be such a wasteful industry. In my design process, I love to tell a story, hiding pieces of symbolism throughout an outfit. With each look the audience should be able to gather the essence of the character’s personality.
